If the increasing immoral segment of our society were asked that question the answer would be in the negative. The immoral person loses a sense of and respect for moral values. They are like those whom Isaiah said: 'Woe unto them that call evil good'? and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter" (Isa. 5:20). I will now set forth a number of reasons why I believe we are facing a moral crisis.

1. HONESTY IS LACKING. Though Paul said, "Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another." (Eph. 4:25). There is but little regard for the truth in our time. Some can remember when "a man's word was his bond' but many younger people have never known such a time. Prov. 23:23 'Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding."

2. PEOPLE ARE "LOVERS OF PLEASURES..." Paul warned: "Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away" (2 Tim. 3:4-5). To see that this time has come, one need only look at the packed stadiums at sports events, note the boaters on the way to the lakes in the summer, and the crowds at various places of enter- tainment, then make a comparison with those who have an interest in spiritual matters. Some of our brethren are turning worship services into "entertainment" apparently to try to draw the "pleasure-loving" people.

3. DIVORCE FOR ANY CAUSE. God, who ordained marriage, and the home, gave only one scriptural cause for divorce and remarriage. That cause is fornication as set forth in Matt. 19:9. Society has disregarded that law to the tune of one divorce for every two marriages. But God's law remains the same and never will change, though it be flaunted by multitudes.

4. DISREGARD FOR THE SANCTITY OF LIFE. Murdering mothers are taking the lives of well over a million little boys and girls every year, before they are born. When people have no respect for the sacredness of life they violate a principle established by God.

5. SEXUAL IMMORALITY AND SEXUAL PERVERSION ARE ENCOURAGED. Sexual immorality is classified as a "work of the flesh" in Gal. 5:19-21. This sin will keep people out of heaven, but this matters not with the multitudes. The lowest depths to which people can go in this immorality is now represented by "Madonna Mania." Has our society has gone to the dogs?" God strongly condemns the acts of the "gays" and "lesbians" in Romans 1. From all the evidence, "bringing the country together" -means that citizens are being asked to accept sexual perversion, murder of the innocent unborn, ridicule of family values,, and other unseemly things. But brethren, we have a much higher calling--that of obeying the Lord. "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29).
